Heading to the beach or your backyard this 4th of July...Grab the CAT Tough Tracks

>
CAT Tough Tracks will make the sand so much more fun this year.  They have a great collection of vehicles that are tough and ready to take on any sand construction your child can dig up!  They are available as Cat Dump Truck, Cat Bulldozer and Cat Wheel Loader.

My son loved playing with the Cat Dump Truck.  He has a nice sandbox in the backyard and loves driving his trucks, small and large around.  The Cat trucks are the perfect size.  They are not too small that they get lost in the sand, yet not too big that they take over the sandbox.  They are a great size for packing in a bag to go to the beach too!

They are made of a very heavy plastic. They are made to take a beating and I love that they can take the weather too.  I hate trying to collect all our toys to bring them in, as my son is in the sandbox just about every day.  The Cat Tough Tracks can stay right out in the rain and unlike metal construction vehicles they do not rust!  Besides getting dirty, they look and perform like new!  The nice plastic is great for younger chidren too, ages 2 and up.  There are no sharp pieces to worry about getting injured on if they fall with them.

Cat Tough Tracks are now available at Toys R Us, Wal-Mart, and Target and have a suggested retail value of $10.00.  So if you are heading to the beach or just want some fun in the backyard grab a Cat Tough Track for some added fun!  You can even add in their fun hardhat to really get your little on in the moment!

For more information on these fun toys check out Toy State on facebook and Twitter.

disclosure:  I received a Cat Tough Tracks Dump Truck and hardhat from Toy State as a TeamMom member.

Female Friendship and Loyalty.... Do you have a friendship like Rizzoli & Isles?

>
Despite their many differences, Rizzoli & Isles are best friends with a peculiar and compassionate relationship. As exec-producer Janet Tamaro explains, "There's something rare about their relationship that I see in the world but not enough on television: two smart, strong, competent women who instinctively drop the protective shield when they're with each other."

I think in my adult years I have one friendship that is somewhat close to this.  When I moved to where I live now, I left all my family and friends 900 miles away.  I was fortunate that my husbands good friend had a great girlfriend that shared a lot of the same interests as I did.  We hit it off well.  It has now been over eleven years and we are still great friends.  Like Rizzoli & Isles we have a similar background in jobs.  Although like them, we both have had different jobs.  They are similar and we can talk to each other and get advice on the jobs from each other.  Now we both have children and can get advice from each other about our personal lives.  I also love how Rizzoli & Isles get involved with each other's families in a way.  I have found that being able to be close or relate to your friend's family really helps in a friendship.  My friend MaryAnn and I are that way.  Her family has let me in, and my family has let her in. Our family members are always asking about the other's and their children.  It really is nice and really helps during hard times.

Through the years we have gotten closer and closer.  With that closeness brings times where you do start to see the differences too, which sometimes ends up in arguments.  Like Rizzoli & Isles we work through those times of disagreement and I think that makes our friendship stronger.  We also are like them that we can just laugh at each others quirky differences.  Which one of us is Isles wearing heals to work, and which one is Rizzoli and always a bit on edge?  Who knows....but the friendships work and that is all that matters!

I am so excited that Rizzoli & Isles will be back on July 11th! How about you?  Excited for the second season of Rizzoli & Isles? Get prepared with all 10 episodes of the first season on DVD! Available for pre-order here:http://bit.ly/mt2Hpo !

I have been hired by Warner Bros. WBWord division to promote Rizzoli & Isles Season One on DVD.

#Mamavation Monday~ great loss thanks to what I am learning with LeanGreenYOU

>
I posted Thursday about what I am learning with LeanGreenYOU...and that I was completely shocked at the scale this Thursday.  I had lost 4.9 pounds!!!  I am not starving myself and am not doing crazy exercising either.  I am eating smarter and trying to exercise moderately.  I know I will need to increase the exercises as the times go on....and my eating will probably just get better and better as I learn how to cook some of the foods I have never tried before.  This week my goal is to experiment with recipes and find healthy easy recipes that I know I will eat often.  I also really want to get working on only eating meat 3 times a week.  This past week I aimed for that but did a little bit more...not bad though as the other two times were very small portions.  One thing I do need is a food scale so that I can weigh my meat portions as I am not that great at knowing how much I should eat.  Maybe I can win one today from EatSmart Products.  They are sponsoring todays blogging Carnival.

This week my exercising was not all there.  I did a lot of family outings this past week.  I went to a concert, and we did Day out at Thomas, a friends summer party and a day out at the park.  A couple of these I did some walking around, but only actually exercised three days.  So this week my goal will be to get in 6 days of exercise.  I am still trying to do the Wii hula hoop every day...but am trying to add some more sweat inducing and strength training workouts in.  I got a good sweat going by using both my Gold's Gym Wii games and the Wii Active more workouts games.  So I think I will aim to do each of these at least once this week.  The morning walks haven't been going so well.  It was crappy here up until a few days ago...then Lauren cut some teeth and has been up about 3 times a night....This has made me quite tired and not feeling like I have enough energy at 5 am to go for a walk.

This weeks blogging carnival question:
How have you recently stepped up to support someone in your life?

I am trying to be healthier which in turn hopefully I am helping my family members too.  I am hoping they see me cutting back on junk and eating more healthy stuff...and then they do the same.  I have my step daughters here and hopefully am supporting them as they are getting older and hopefully giving them some good advice.

This post is sponsored by EatSmart Products and I’m writing this to be entered into a EatSmart Precision Pro Digital Kitchen Scale giveaway hosted by Mamavation .  I am also participating in the LeanGreenYOU bootcamp which was provided to me for free from Jennifer McCay (LeanGreenMama).  These are my personal opinions.

Nice family Sunday at the park

The Bag Holder

>

Typically I would say I am more of a stirring than a mixer with my hands....but when you want to mix something up using a gallon size bag, then definitely grab for The Bag Holder.  This is a handy (or should I say hands free) tool.  Right now I am trying to lose weight and eat better by making some meals up and freezing them.  The Bag Holder is a great tool for this.  You can make up your food and you do not need any hands to hold the bag when pouring in all the items you want frozen.

At first when I was thinking about the uses for The Bag Holder I was thinking I would not really use it that often because I use mixing bowls so much more mostly so that I am not wasting all the bags.  Then I realized that you could simply wash out the bags also by placing them on The Bag Holder, washing and reusing them.

I also had the inventor of the bag holder remind me that this is a great tool for children with special needs or adults with an injury or disability.  Let me share some of this with you:

we work with quite a few families that have children autistic or limited mobility in their arms and hands. They all seem to agree that mashing and kneading the food rather than stirring is therapeutic and allows them to feel different textures while helping in the kitchen without the mess. My assistants son has many medical concerns and she was the one that first noticed how it helped him do things he could not normally do. I had cancer and after a bi-lateral mastectomy I could not stir and that is how I realized how the method behind the holder would allows me to do everything I did before but without having to use bowls and mixers. I just added, sealed, mixed and mashed and pour, pipe or squeeze right into the pan.

For me I will be on the look out for a quart size bag holder...I do more with quart size bags myself and think this would be pretty helpful in my house.  I thought this was a great way to incorporate it into more than just for cooking or meal preparations.  We decided to use it for making some homemade goop.

You can purchase The Bag Holder for $19.99 by visiting http://thebagholder.net/buy/   Get Free Shipping:   To get it, you need to purchase The Bag Holder, then post your order number and my name, Colleen B. from Finding our way home at http://www.facebook.com/bagholder.  You can also follow The Bag Holder on Facebook http://www.facebook.com/bagholder

Day out with Thomas

>

We had a great time spending the "day out with Thomas" at Green Bay's National Railroad Museum.  We lucked out and the weather cooperated with us.  It has been a rainy week.  It rained on the way there, rained on the way home....but was bright sunshine and warm for our day out!

Zach was so excited to be going on surprise day.  He kept thinking it was going out for Cars 2 stuff, but was pretty happy when he saw the trains and then saw Thomas.  He first asked "can I ride Thomas?"  When we told him yes...."Yesssss" came out!  It was cute.

Here are some shots from out day:

Meeting Sir Topham Hat

Checking out Thomas

All of us on the train.
Zach "I get to ride the freight train"

Checking out some signs in the museum

Getting some Thomas Tattoos

Checking out the various trains throughout the museum

Enjoying the bounce house

Even taking some time to smell the roses!

There is still time for you to check out "Day out with Thomas" in Green Bay.  It runs until this Sunday.  To find other locations and purchase tickets please visit http://www.ticketweb.com/promo/dowt/index.html

disclosure:  I received 4 free tickets to attend Day out with Thomas for free.  We did purchase more tickets so our whole family could enjoy the day.  These are my personal opinions.
