This week I have been watching some free videos by Jennifer McCay at LeanGreenYOU. I would love to learn more about which foods really are not all that healthy, even though they are considered health foods. She had mentioned these, and going to more whole foods. I would love to learn some recipes and will be checking out Alysa Bajenaru, RD @InspiredRD tonight on the Mamavation show to hopefully get some more ideas and recipes so that I will enjoy these foods more.
The other thing I want to focus more on is eliminating my trigger foods. From watching Jennifer McCay's free video on food cravings she has given me ideas on eliminating these cravings. So this week is fairly quiet so I am going to try very very hard to cut out these triggers, and hopefully by the end of the week will not have the cravings I have been dealing with.
I mentioned in my title that I have set a new goal. While I was pregnant I had set a goal to lose 25 pounds by July 4th....but yeah I have actually gone the other way. I have given in to cravings so much the last month that I have gained weight. So I am getting some help with my nutrition by reading more through Mamavation, and I am going to be starting a six week program with Jennifer McCay later this week. I have thought about it more and am going to quit beating myself up for not losing weight. I have set a new goal to lose weight by Labor day. I am partnering up with my good friend and neighbor and we are going to get up early and go for walks before the kids are up. We figured we dont have the motivation to do it by ourselves so we are going to do it together! On top of that I am going back to working out using my Wii. I lost so much using my Wii and it was fun. I have many exergames to use, and now I just got to dust off that balance board and get moving. I have set a challenge to do the Wii fit 10 minute hula hoop every day. I figure no matter what this is just a quick 15 minutes of my day. Plus this is on my list of alternatives for when I have food cravings. So I might just get it in more than once a day.
While I like how the Firm Express dvds made me sweat, some of the moves have me tripping over my feet right now. I need to get back to working out more and then I think I can handle them more. I found a couple of the workouts I would be doing some side steps during parts because the moves were too fast for me. I dont mind speed, but they would be quick and would change directions too much. These I think are great workouts for people that can keep up more and are good about following directions quickly. So I am off to get thinner and quicker, then will add them in again.
So my goal this week:
- 10 minute Wii fit hula hoop every day.
- Walk at least 5 days this week(at least one hour), even if I have to do it with the Wii or dvd depending on the weather.
- Do some strength training workouts using the Wii.
- Cut out my trigger foods like soda and chips.
- Try to eat more whole foods by finding recipes that include them more.

Great goals for the week. I need to pay more attention to my trigger foods. I know one is ice cream. So hard to resist in the hot weather. Keep up the good work!
ReplyDeleteI love your goals for the week. Here is to a amazing week full of Mamavation!
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like you have a plan! Keep up the good work and I know you'll make your goal!
ReplyDeleteI have enjoyed the Lean Green Mama videos also. Best of luck with your goals, they sound like good ones.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week!
Also be sure to check out Alysa's site for some great recipes. I used several in my Mamavation Mom meal plans.
I am with you on the healthy foods...some diets tell you it's okay to eat pretzels and then I was told of you carry your weight in the middle then you should not eat pretzels. It can be so confusing sometimes.
ReplyDeleteIt's really so hard to stay straight on the path. I guess once we ever get there, it will be easier but I try not to kick myself when I don't and just get back up and say "here I go again." I figure it's better to keep trying than to give up :)
