101 Stories about All the Ages and Stages of Our Feline Family Members
From kittenhood through the twilight years, our feline companions continually bring joy, love, and laughter to the lives of their "staff." This collection of 101 new stories captures the experience of living through the natural life cycle with our cats — from the laugh-out-loud antics of kittens and tear-your-hair-out escapades of teenage cats to the more mature adult years and final stages of life. Stories cover each age and stage with all the fun, frustrations, special bonds and routines involved. The book also holds a special chapter about grieving and recovery when our feline friends leave us.
This is a great book for pet lovers of any age! My friends daughter really wanted this book, as it reminded her of her two cats. What is so nice with the Chicken Soup books is that they are nice short stories that can keep the interest of even younger readers like my children and friends children. For many of us pets are members of the family and we can tell so many stories of our pets. So if you are a cat lover, I am sure this book will have some great stories you can relate to!

I have a great cat, spooky, who is all black.

My cat is a beautiful orange and white long-haired mutt of some sort. She's declawed in the front. She's 7 years old now, I got her last year from a friend's mom who was giving away some of her pets. She's hilarious and adorable. She begs for treats all the time. If you walk into the kitchen, she follows you and stands in front of the pantry door because she expects treats. She meows somewhat often, and she has a messed up meow because a warble laid eggs in her throat when she was younger (and I guess a vet surgically removed it or something?). She plays in her water bowl and in the sink. She's a lap cat, and she's scared of thunderstorms. She also likes to jump on the living room coffee table and lay down... people who come over to my house must think I never tried to instill any discipline, but it's not for lack of trying. :P

ReplyDeleteOur inside cat is 17 and has been a grump her whole life, but I just love her! Our outside cat is a stray we adopted and she is crazy. Scared of possums and nothing else...not even dogs. She's a hoot to watch when she's skipping across our roof.

I don't currently have a cat but I have had a lot of cats in the past. Everyone was special. Most became part of our home after being dumped by their owners. Er lived on a dirt sideroad and people were always dumping cats and dogs. garrettsambo@aol.com

ReplyDeleteHello,
ReplyDeleteI just ran across your blog and contest, But I'll tell you about a cat I had that has passed away. She was a gorgeous siamese-lynx point mix who lived to the ripe old age of 19 years old. In her younger days she was a fabulous mouser and could jump at least 5 feet vertically if not more. Not a big fan of dogs, but did tolerate sleeping by our newer dogs now and then. One thing I always thought was funny when I was younger was how she loved muffins, of any kind. Be they corn muffins or blueberry or poppy seed. I'd bake them in the morning then put some saran wrap over them, to come home later and find little snout-sized dips in every single one! I moved on to putting a pan over them, and then putting them in the pantry. No luck, somehow she always managed to eat off the tops. She was the best cat ever; she slept with me every night and was an affectionate lap cat. I miss her.
