Hedley CD now available
>
From the country that brought you Drake, Justin Bieber and Nickelback, comes multi-platinum Canadian band Hedley. You can check out "Perfect" the new single from Hedley's "The Show Must Go" which is now available in stores.
With charismatic frontman Jacob Hoggard (of Canadian Idol fame) leading the tight-knit Vancouver-based group which also includes bassist Tom McDonald, guitarist Dave Rosin and drummer Chris Crippin, The Show Must Go features the work of a band that is already coming into its own. Over four years, the band has won acclaim by earning two multi-platinum albums and a devoted fan base through a regimen of hard work and relentless touring. Produced by Brian Howes (Boys Like Girls, Hinder) and David Bendeth (Paramore, Breaking Benjamin) along with John Feldmann (The Used, Goldfinger) and longtime collaborator Dave Genn, the album showcases the enigmatic Hoggard, who combines the theatrical showmanship of Steve Tyler, Freddie Mercury and Billy Idol with the story-telling abilities of Billy Joel and Elton John.
The Show Must Go is preceded by the soaring piano ballad “Perfect,” Hedley’s first official U.S. single release. Winning two MMVA’s in June (including Video Of The Year), "Perfect" became Hedley’s 10th consecutive #1 video at MuchMusic earlier this year and set a new record for a domestic artist at the video channel. The power ballad has received more than 1.5 million views at YouTube, and can also be seen on top-rated music site VEVO, as well as the band’s website

. "Perfect" is currently available for download on iTunes.
The Show Must Go ranges from the electro-tinged opener “Cha-Ching,” about reality television’s intoxicating allure that pokes fun at The Hills, the Kardashians, Flava Flav and Tila Tequila (“Line up all the Idols/Who paint on phony smiles/Trying to ride the fast track to fame,” sings Hoggard, admitting he’s not excluding himself after his own participation in Canadian Idol, where he finished as a third runner-up.), and the rap-inflected “Don’t Talk to Strangers,” a satirical tribute to cougar women on the prowl, to such unabashedly sweet love songs as the piano ballad “Amazing” and the reggae feel good number “Shelter.” And then there's classic Hedley, with a nod to hedonism in the hilarious “Young and Stupid” and the riotous “Nine Shades of Red,” which describes one of Hedley’s boisterous nights on the town.
I got to get a sneak peak at some of the new songs on Hedley's The Show Must Go album. I had never listened to any of their music before, but I enjoyed the songs. I really like "Perfect" and hearing that first is what really made me want to check out the album. I could listen to it over and over. I also really liked "I Do (Wanna Love You)", it is a catchy tune. You can check out some previews of the CD or order online by going to
