#mamavation monday

>
Well I havent been a very good mamavation sista lately.  I have really fallen off the wagon of diet and exercise with this pregnancy...and even fallen of the computer wagon.  I get so tired using the computer, and the pregnancy carpel tunnel has set in a long time ago.  I really gotta get reading everyones posts and watch all the applicants videos for this next campaign...I need to get more supportive.  I know I will need lots of support myself in a couple months getting back in shape.

I havent done any regular exercise in a few weeks.  I get some bursts of energy and do some major cleaning/organizing but that is about it.  This week I raked some leaves so the kids could have some fun.  Today I am gonna take advantage of this nice weather and take a walk later.  I am not sure how long the walk will end as my back has been getting achy pretty easy these days.  I dont sleep much either.  My stress has gone down a lot and my mood is much better....I am just uncomfortable a lot.  This week I am 30-31 weeks along.  It seems like no time I will have a new baby to carry around.  So I need to look into the best ways to start getting back into shape after having a baby.  Any suggestions are welcome!  I know I didnt stay with it during pregnancy, but am definitely going to be giving it all I can (which may be slower with a baby, and two other kiddos) come the new year!  If I knew Leah wouldnt kill me I would maybe apply for Januarys campaign, but with my family life I just never know if I can commit to what the Mamavation Moms have to do.  I thought I was ready the last time I applied, to then find out I was pregnant and then have Kennedy in the hospital.  I will commit to getting healthier and moving more though!

So anyways I give a big "good luck" to all the finalists..I know how stressful the campaign can be....dont give up even if you are not chosen!

Another "Thanks" to Subway for sponsoring mamavation once again!  They have been awesome!
This week’s blogging carnival is sponsored by SUBWAY. SUBWAY is giving away a green iPod Shuffle and a $10 iTunes gift card to one lucky winner. All you have to do is mention the Commit to Fit Campaign and Jared on their Mamavation Monday post.

  2. Glad to see you Colleen. Do what you can right now. I used Shellie's Post Natal Tae Bo DVD as I eased back into a fitness routine after my baby. It was good for me then I transitioned back into the other ways I enjoy working out over time.

  3. Hey there - it's hard when you're pregnant. I had trained for a run a 5K when I was first pregnant (didn't know!) and then I kind of just stopped everything. I was just so tired. You know what? Do what you can and keep the stress low, like you said.

Have you seen the pics of Rachel Steffen on her blog? She's got a double stroller and a baby carrier!! you can do it too!! There are lots of moms on here who have small children who I'm sure will give you advice.

    Hang in there!

  4. It is tough being pregnant and having 2 kids. I feel your pain! I am 29 weeks along and have 2 children. Pregnancy has been kicking my butt too! You are almost done! YAY! Don't worry so much about things out of your control. Just wait until your little one is here, and then focus on the getting in shape. I have tried water aerobes since about the 2nd trimester. It has helped, but I don't a whole lot else. It is just hard! So, don't beat yourself up too much!

  5. I was not active at all during my pregnancy and I really suffered for it. My back was terrible, my energy was non-existent and the carpel tunnel was horrible (I didn't get the feeling back into my fingers until about 2-3 months post patum. I started with walking. I pushed baby in the stroller. Even just getting outside did wonders for my mood and spirits, and it was a good way to get back into it. I was a runner before getting pregnant so I started running again at 5 weeks post partum, very slowly. Listen to your body and your doctor/midwife. They'll help guide you back into exercise safely.

  6. Self Awareness is always the first step in my book. I know that if you commit to it, you will do it. I don't have any advice to offer as far as post-pregnancy exercises, because, well I didn't exercise after having my boys and now they are 8 & 10...but I do know that if support is what you are looking for, this is the place. Sounds like you have your head in the game and for me, that is always the hardest part! Good luck!

  7. You know, we all need time for ourselves, and being pregnant is the perfect time to take care of yourself.

Take it easy babe! Dont' stress too much about us! I had pregnancy induced carpel tunnel with my last pregnancies, and I know exactly how you feel. it's really tough!

    Hugs babe!!

  10. I just read what you wrote on my post, and you can not get down on your self!!! Us mom's have to stick together, and you are almost done girl! Sometimes it is hard to stay motivated, good grief you have 2 kids! I struggled very much with my second child. I was very out of shape, and miserable. To the point where I told my husband and my mother to remind me of that when I said I was ready to have another one. I would love to say that I have been all about Yoga, and working out, and walking and staying healthy during this pregnancy, but that just hasn't been the case. I have been very miserable the whole time. I started going to water aerobics not because I wanted to, but because I can hardly walk. (which lucky me started at the beginning of my second trimester) So I tried anything I could to stay mobile, and that helped. But trust me, the whole first trimester I spent on the couch being sick! And I would have done it during the 2nd trimester as well, but my husband had to go to Louisiana for his job, and has been gone since Aug.
So...please, please don't get down on your self for what you have or have not done during your pregnancy. You are doing great, and you will be fine after the baby is born too!

Ok, well since this is my second comment, I will stop now! LOL! I hope this helps some.

    Big Hugs!

  12. I totally understand where you are coming from. I have a six month old and three other children. It was helpful for me to make a plan for my post-partum exercise goals. I gave myself permission to do NOTHING for two weeks and then I gently moved backed into my exercise routine. Maybe you can just start with some baby and me workout DVDs. Enjoy your pregnancy. The time goes way too fast!
