Mamavation Monday: My application to become the next Mamavation Mom

>

So Friday I said I would be posting my application to become the next Mamavation Mom...well here it is.

It was kind of hard, as I hate public speaking..I remember standing up in college and totally freezing in front of about 1000 people, yikes! I guess I also talk more than I realized, and had to edit it to cut out about half of what I said to keep it around 4minutes.

So as I say on the video...even though I have lost 50lbs  I still would really love to be the next Mamavation Mom.  According to my height I probably should still lose at least 40lbs.  For this next couple months I am setting a goal, whether I become the Mamavation Mom or not, to lose 20lbs by June!  I am ready to get serious!!!  I would love all your support!

Please follow me on twitter @colleen_mouse and show your support by tweeting:

"Hey @bookieboo I want @colleen_mouse to be the next #Mamavation Mom.  She has my support!"

My struggles this week have been with food.....I have wanted sweets like icecream and given in a  bit too much.  So my goal for this week is to have some willpower and not give into temptation...I made a frozen fruit snack with some pomegranate and lime juice and if I am getting a sweet tooth a little of that will have to do!

My successes this week have been exercising.  Last week I started the 6 week challenge with my EA Sports Active More Workouts.  I have also done some walking and even some running uphill pushing a stroller!  My goal is to continue doing both of these this week.

Down almost a pound this week!
Currently 176.5
Total loss since 1/09 52.5lbs
(short term goal 165 by 5/1)

I also wanted to share a little about my kids, who are my inspiration to lose weight an get healthy.  A couple years ago I threw my back out, and I was lucky at that time because my daughter was almost 20lbs lighter and could crawl and stand with help.  Then just a few months later she started having bad seizures and was hospitalized for a couple months.  She lost all her ability to sit, crawl, stand and eat.  She put on some weight from not moving around and different tube feedings.  Today I have to lift her to do all the things she used to do.  Spring is here and summer is coming and we love to go outside.  I would love to be fit to lift her into her swing and later this summer hold her in our swimming pool.  I have to be fit and not throw my back out, because I just wouldnt know what to do if I did!  Here is a little of her:

My son is just a busy body and loves action....climbing, jumping, running...you name it.  He is my biggest cheerleader, and my workout buddy:

  2. You have been an involved member of the Sistahood. You have demonstrated how supportive you can be of all of us in this process since I have known you from the last campaign. I love how you want to do this for yourself and legitimately need to be as healthy as you can be to care for your daughter in the manner that you want. Good luck this campaign Colleen. I also think your 165 goal is reasonable. You will do it.

  12. I love how you put a short-term goal in your post to keep you motivated. Being a Mamavation Mom totally kicked my sugar habit, and it wasn't even that painful, so I know you can do it, too! I'm glad you're applying and that I get to watch your journey.
