Fitness Friday: Denise's Daily Dozen by Denise Austin

>
Giveaway closed.
Congratulations to Pixie13, anonymouse (gordyneve), and Wanda.

I was so happy to become part of the blog tour for this book, as I have been a fan of Denise Austin since I was a teen.  Her dvds and tv shows helped me lose some weight after having my son and before my wedding....now her new book "Denise's Daily Dozen" is helping me lose it this time around! This book gives great tips, meal plans and exercises.

I was actually reading this while I was at the hospital with my daughter for one of her 7 hour appointments...This was great.  I loved reading about the "fidget-ciser" and then being able to do them in our little corner while at the hospital.  These are great for times when you are talking on the phone, cooking dinner or doing the dishes.

I love all the tips she gives through out the book.  These include tips on cutting costs of food, serving sizes, boosting energy and many more.  I think many readers will find these really useful.  She also gives you checklists, shopping lists and  a section of 12 meals in 12 minutes.  The best parts of the book are her 3 week plans.  The main focus of the book is following her meal plans and her daily 12 minute exercises.

This is listed so great and it is really easy to follow.  With her meal plans she gives you enough for 3 weeks.  They list recipes and ingredients of protein, fat, veggie and fruits as well as the nutritional information and recommendations for men vs. women.  For some people, some of the meals might not be to your liking, but what is nice is that there is a big selection so you can pick a similar meal from a different day.

Along with the meals is the daily exercises.  She gives you descriptions and photos of all the exercises, with how long you should do each one.  She also gives recommendations on taking those exercises up a notch.  These are great...and believe me....even though they are only about 12 minutes long, you will work up a sweat and feel it!  What is great is that they focus on different areas everyday, that way you are switching up the workouts.

I really found this book interesting and very beneficial to my diet and workout plans.  I would definitly recommend it for those that are just starting out and even those that have been exercising for a while.  This can definitly be used in combination with her dvds or any other exercise routines also.
