In the village of Westbury, there are the rich people of the highlands, and the poor people of the lowlands. One Noble Journey is the story of the people of Westbury and two friends, Journey and Bella. Bella from the highlands, and Journey an orphan of the lowlands. As their friendship is in jeapordy because of Bella's father, Count Billingsly, the readers will learn that everyone is equal in the eyes of God. Dixie Phillips has a great way of teaching us that "the gound is level at the foot of the cross". This is a great book for young Christians (suggested audience 3-10yrs old). The illustrations by Kim Sponaugle are cute and colorful, and tell the story very well. I really like how the story pulls all the characters together and teaches the readers about following the cross. I think this would be a great family story, or a great one for religious education classes or children's mass.

Thanks for hosting Dixie today. I'm glad you enjoyed One Noble Journey. It's one of my favorites from Dixie, and her new book Baby Jesus is Missing is wonderful.
