"Queen Vernita was preparing her invitations for this year's visits with her twelve wonderful friends.  She wanted her friends to visit the Blue Ice Mountains in the Land of Quails.  There would be so many new and exciting things to do."
This story of Queen Vernita, follows along every month of the year with a new visitor.  Each page of the story focuses on one specific month.  During the story the reader can learn what season the month falls in and how many days are in that month.   The story then lists every day of the week and some interesting facts about things that they discover in the Blue Ice Mountains.  They learn about things like bald eagles, bears, the ocean, and even the Northern Lights.
I really like the concept of the story and all that the story teaches.  I think the book would be good to use in schools to teach about visitting places, and about the calendar year.  I think for my
children who have special needs the story wasnt "cute" enough to keep their interest.  This story is full of adventures and things that the  visitors do and see, but the way it is told doesnt necessarily sound adventurous.  The story is very repetative in its format, which I think it is meant to be that way to help the readers learn.  I can see this book in the school room for older elementary age children and could easily be used in lesson plans.   I think children that take an interest in travel, and animals would be interested in this book.

(I received this copy to review from the author and/ bostick communications)
