Well I sit typing today at Childrens hospital. Friday night Kennedy woke up throwing up, and did this for a few hours. She rested for a bit after and got up at 6am. Her head was shaky. I thought it was sleep deprivation and would go away after she took a nap. The day went on...no napping...still shaking. The shaking started to get more intense...then I noticed eye fluttering. The eye fluttering got more pronounced so I decided to bring her to the ER. She fell asleep on the way there and I thought maybe she would wake up fine and it would be a wasted trip...No such luck. When we got there I noticed what had to be definite seizure activity. Head was still shaking constantly...eyes fluttery at times...and now her head and shoulder did rhythmic jerks. So she got some rescue meds and it pretty much got rid of the activity. She fell asleep around midnight...soundly...but unfortunatly was awaken by pokes. Her temp got low and she was shivering. Most likely this was from the med, but they had to take tests to make sure. Its now 1pm. She had an EEG a little while ago...waiting for results...although the tech thinks it pretty much showed that she is pretty sedated still, so we might end up doing another at a later time. I think we will be here another night...they want to see how she does when the meds wear off. I had a feeling the other morning that the vomitting episodes she has had this month meant seizures were waiting to come out. I really think there is a connections and that her vomitting is a symptom of her seizures, not a cause. So we sit and wait. Lets pray its nothing more than just a breakthough and we can get them under control again!
I am also hoping we will be home tomorrow. Zach's first day of kindergarten is Wednesday and I would feel much better being home putting him on the bus. I am also thinking maybe to have Kennedy just do 3 days like last year instead of 4 like I was thinking. We will see how the week goes. I will have her stay home this week.
So we have had an interesting week...besides what is going on with the kids...we also had a week ourselves. We were selling a 4 wheeler and had it ready to go...the night before it was supposed to get picked up...someone stole it out of our front yard. We reported it, but most likely wont see it again. We were going to use that money to buy one for Zach. Bob decided he didnt want him to lose out, so he got him his new one anyways. He loves it and loves wearing his fancy helmet. I have pics, but they will have to wait until I am home.
You're in my prayers and thoughts. Keep me updated. I hope Kennedy is doing better & You can be home for Zach's Big Day. Love Ya
