Interesting looking product for Autistic children

>
While I was checking out the blogs I follow regulary it was suggested by The Mom Buzz to check out a review by Matthew's Puzzle blog. The review was for a great looking product called Playtime with Zeebu. If you have or know a child on the autism spectrum go check it out. I myself am really considering it. I think it would be a great product to use with Zach along with the social stories and picture boards/schedules he uses. I was also quite surprised at the price. I figured it would be really expensive(like most products for special needs), but it wasnt. The more I am checking out their website and the review at Matthews Puzzle the more I think this sounds like a great product! It looks like it ties so many things all in one product.

Kennedy's biggest fan/friend!

>
She came in and went over to Kennedy and gave her a big hug and kiss(several times).
It was so cute!
Then she proceeded to bounce on her...Kennedy loved it!

Happy 1st Birthday!
Give Kennedy a call sometime on your new phone!

Pedipeds shoes....make-a-wish styles

>
Heather over on BusyMom did a review on some adorable childrens shoes by Pediped. A couple things really clicked for me:

First, She wrote "Of course we all want our kids to be happy, but the real test of a shoe's worth comes from the Mama stamp of approval. Well, these definitely have mine! I've never seen tennis shoes that were so easy to put on. There is a generously long velcro strap that you undo and then the "laces" are actually elastic! no worrying about contorting little toes to get them in and no smooshing teeny heels to set all the way down on the shoe; these were a breeze! There is, what Pedipeds calls, a FLEX ZONE on the sole of the shoe that is where the shoe has the most bend. This means no stiff soles, and no awkward breaking-in period. From right out of the box these fit like your favorite pair of tennies! I have to say though, my favorite feature of the Pedipeds entire line is their removeable insoles. You can add up to 4mm worth of insoles to shoe, for a snug fit. Then, as your child grows, you simply remove the extra inserts and the shoe grows with your child! What parent doesn't love a longer lasting shoe?!"

I haven't actually tried these shoes....but having a child that wears afo's ,having removeable insoles would be a great benefit. I figured I would post about these because I know several of my readers children wear afo's like Kennedy.

Secondly, they have a selection of shoes called "purchase for a purpose" in which 50% of the sale of these selected shoes goes to the Make-A-Wish foundation!

When it is dark enough, you can see the stars.
(Charles A. Beard)

This time last year was one of the hardest times in my life. Although I longed to be home so much, I never thought I would be home with out my daughter. This was one of the days when my daughter was in a pentobarb coma. They told us her brain and body needed a rest and this was the only way to help her. It was such a terrible feeling leaving my child at the hospital, but knowing there was nothing I could do for her, and she would not know if I was there or not. I found this quote above and was thinking of this time in my life. It was a dark time...but with hope we saw the stars! Please continue praying for Kennedy, and all the other families going through the dark times! We pray you can see the stars!

Here is my shining star today!

Our Sunday Smile:
Last night Zach had us cracking up. We were watching Trading Spouses and one of the sons on the shows name was Cashflow and was a rapper. Zachary started trying to rap~ making noises like oh, uh , ye, uh, ...it was so funny. Then we asked if he was a rapper and he put his hand up to his mouth like he had a microphone. It just looked so funny seeing my 4yr old standing on the couch trying to rap....of course if you see him bouncing around in daddys escalade to lollipop song...that is pretty funny too!

Some Christmas pics

>

The first one up, patiently waiting for a gift!

Then Zachary was up and wasnt quite sure what to do.
He quietly opened his stocking...

and was stuck playing with the first thing out(a mini bowling set)

Then we woke Kennedy up (and dragged Dad out of bed to watch)

and opened all our presents.

I Think the kids had a good time opening gifts and liked what they got.

It was pretty much a very quiet day. I really missed seeing my family and spending Christmas with them...but we are blessed that (although the family wasnt here)we didnt have to spend it like last year! Here is to many more Christmas' at home...the best gift!

Christmas '07

Merry Christmas!

>

Aren't the kids supposed to go in and jump on the bed waking the parents up, begging to go see if Santa came?

I am patiently waiting sitting here after 7am for a child to wake up and see the surprise...patiently! GET UP KIDS!

I hope all my family and friends back home, here, and online have a wonderful Christmas!

Silly Monkey stories...my son the cat

>

(click on pic to take you to more silly monkey stories)

Our silly monkey story is about my moms phone call yesterday after reading my blog: She believes Zach is a cat! With some help from others we agree!

Evidence:
He loves to climb
He chases birds outside
He plays in the fish tank
He pokes at the chinchillas while their backs are to him
He drinks from the faucet
He gets into the cat box(eww)
He climbs up the walls and jumps from as high as he can
He likes bugs
He tears the Christmas tree apart, and eat the decorations

Now my only problems is he goes around the house saying "woof woof".....Crazy Cat!

Zach's newest thing

>

My cat is soooo picky...She always wants water from the faucet...and it has to be the filtered water faucet! So I guess Zach thought he would try it also! This was the second time we caught him up there this weekend.

BRRRRR!!!

>
This weather has been crazy! Wind chill of -35 right now! We fortunately did a little more Christmas shopping yesterday before it got really crappy out. I am hoping to get out tomarrow while Kennedy is in school to finish getting Bob something and some stocking stuffers. We are supposed to get hit with another storm Tuesday night into Wednesday.

Elfing Around

>
We have an elf named Holly staying with us til Christmas. She is pretty silly! She does some crazy stuff while we are sleeping. Last night she helped decorate the Christmas tree! It made getting dressed this morning a little easier.

Wonder what crazy things she will do tonight?

Betty Crocker?

>
I mean Bob Crocker...lol. I have never seen this man bake before!

For some reason he decided to make Zach's chocolate chip bars(in a jar). Then when I was off to work(my 2hr a week job..lol) he made up cookie batter for me also! Geez, maybe tomarrow there will be picks of him decorating cookies too!
